An example of ancestral architecture, it dates back to the time of Fernando Esteves, knight nobleman, reign of D. Afonso III (1248-1279). Displays Pedra de Armas with a crossbowmen's helmet, 1st quarter-Esteves; 2nd Figueiredos; 3rd Morais; 4th Sarmento. In its recently rebuilt design, it tried to maintain the timelessness of the spaces, combined with the comfort that is intended to be provided, in its new vocation of Rural Tourism.
It was the residence of General José Alves Pinto de Azevedo (1809-1873), one of the 7,500 liberals who landed on the beaches of Mindelo, from which his daughter D. Maria Inês married to Major Luiz Ferreira Real followed, being occupied by the
last heir, Joaquim Augusto do Rêgo (1886-1970), whose 1st wife was the niece of the Abbot of Baçal. The house was assiduously frequented by illustrious figures, such as the Abbot of Baçal, an emblematic figure of the region. Today the house
was restored by the legitimate heiress Dª Margarida Rêgo/n
